After being cooped up
inside all winter, it is a wonderful feeling to
finally enjoy the little things - walking outside
sans coat, heading downtown for a Tigers game and
not to mention, fine dining with a dockside view.
While northern Michigan is a mecca for lakeside
eateries, Michiganders don't necessarily have to

such
as Union Lake are closer than you think. These
three-winning restaurant options offer that vacation
feel with out the hassle of packing your bags
pouring sand out of your shoes.
An old bathhouse sounds like an odd place for a
restaurant, but St. Clair Shores native Mike LeFevre
was determined to transform this unlikely spot into
a restaurant back in 2011.
"I saw the building and I thought. I'm going to make
this an East Coast Key West burger bar"
Soon after Mike's On The Water opened, locals
started flocking in not just for the casual
atmosphere and family-friendly eats, but also for a
taste of their irresistible seafood. Mike's
has earned a well-deserved reputation for its
lobster rolls-they've sold a jaw-dropping 13,000
over the past three years.
Maurice Webb is an experienced
executive chef and the fact Behind These fabulous
lobster rolls. He also is known for his succulent
BBQ ribs, fresh Lake Perch and a stuffed burger that
comes using with American or blue cheese. In
addition to dishing out delicious eats, Mike's
offers easy access for boats and a stunning view of
Lake Sinclair. It is no surprise that the Macomb
Daily recently voted the restaurant number one
outside deck in Macomb County.
Mike stays open from the spring until mid-November
during the summer Kama you will find guests waiting
in line to snag a spot on the deck. Although Mike's
already has a huge flowing, LeFevre aim is to make
his year every better than the last. With a newly
expanded kitchen who knows how many lobster rolls he
will sell this season. |
